History

The Hotels History

Steeped in Wilmington's rich history, the Coastline Center was originally built in 1902 as the headquarters of the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad, serving as a vital hub for transportation and commerce throughout the Southeast. Today, the beautifully restored building preserves much of its original character, allowing guests to experience a piece of Wilmington's past. The stunning wood ceilings and exposed brick walls throughout the venue are original to the historic railroad station, showcasing the craftsmanship and architectural charm of the early 20th century. Beyond Expectations: Aloft Wilmington's Impeccable Wedding Experience

From the moment we chose Aloft Wilmington at Coastline Center for our wedding venue, we knew we had made the perfect choice. The venue itself is nothing short of amazing, offering a blend of elegant space that was both inviting and mesmerizing. It served as the ideal backdrop for our special day, providing us and our guests with memories we will cherish forever. We opted for both the Atlantic Room and Platform Room, eliminating the need for a room flip and allowing guests to simply walk through a door to transition from the ceremony to the reception. Additionally, its proximity to the downtown Riverwalk made for stunning bridal and group photos.

Kendall

This venue was perfect for us. We did the ceremony, cocktail reception, photos, and dinner / dance all in one place. We used the Riverview Terrace and loved the covered deck (especially when it decided to rain halfway through the night). Inside, the temperature was perfect, and they had the room set up to our specifications exactly when they said they would, and made adjustments when asked. The layout of that room is great, and the loft is handy for getting ready and for great photo angles. Their coordinator was very responsive to questions and concerns. Smoooooth sailing!

Bride

A gem right on the water, this hotel is full of small nooks surrounding the lobby where you can take a break or get out of your room to do work. The staff is incredibly friendly, engaging and ready to meet any request. I needed an iron and ironing board to head to an event and they were delivered within 5 minutes. As a frequent traveler, I look for properties that make me feel welcome and offer a relaxed atmosphere, this checks all boxes! I will be back!
